Entrance
On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday the boats will sail into town, most of them on Thursday from 10 am. From around 12 pm a flotilla of 40 ships will arrive, which will dock in Alkmaar at 4 pm. Also at 4 pm the association ship Terra Nova will sail into Alkmaar for the official opening of Victorie Sail Alkmaar.

Information
There are four information points where you can find leaflets and volunteers who will be able to answer any questions you may have. In addition, the Historic Commercial Vessel Association (LVBHB) will have its own information point in the Victorie Park

The boats all tell their own unique stories of their past. They handled the supply of important loads, such as food, fuel and building materials, creating markets on the quay sides. Shipping brought wealth to the towns.

During the weekend there will be a maritime market along the quays of the Kanaalkade, in association with the Market Manager of Alkmaar Market City.

Art workshop
On Friday afternoon from 2 pm to 4 pm there will be a drawing/painting workshop for both beginner and advanced levels. The workshop is run by two experienced artists: Inge Koetzier van Hooff and Talitha Schiffer.

The shipping industry brought wealth to city life, celebrated near the boats by different shanty choirs. Nortada from IJmuiden, the Lake Singers from Akersloot, De Skulpers from Castricum and Onstuimig Schuim from Alkmaar can all be heard on Saturday.

City Walks
During Victorie Sail Alkmaar there is the possibility to take a city walk with guides from the Guild of Alkmaar. These walks start on both Saturday and Sunday at 2 pm at the ‘IJkgebouw’ (be there at 1.45). A place can be reserved in advance up to 20 July by sending an email to info@gildealkmaar.n or just join us on the day itself. Each guide can take up to 15 participants.
